I hope this finds you all well.
In May we had our Annual ride out and tea at the Bondgate Centre.
It was a lovely day for a ride out, with clear blue skies and not too hot.
The countryside looks wonderful at the moment, with all shades of green and the vivid yellow of the oil seed rape.
The tea at Bondgate Centre, where we were warmly welcomed, was delicious, with sandwiches, quiche and sausage rolls, scones and cakes. We then went into the church and sang some hymns together. It was a lovely afternoon, and I trust all who came enjoyed themselves. There were old friends to greet and new friends to make.
We are extremely grateful to our friends at the Bondgate Centre for their welcome and providing our tea.
As many of you know, I am leaving in July, when I will be moving to Chopwell near Gateshead and getting married. It is with mixed feelings I do this, I am excited at the prospect of a new start with Paul, but leaving is hard to do. I have enjoyed my time as Missioner, spending time with all of you, and getting to know you, and I will miss you. I pray that God will bless you and keep you, and will continue to bless the work of the Town Mission, the volunteers, and the new Missioner.
God bless you all Sandra.
As I prepare to write this note members of the Town Mission executive are preparing to select a new Town Missioner to replace Sandra who is leaving us to get married. We all wish her every blessing for a long and happy married life and thank her for all she has done for the mission.
A new missioner will of course bring change and we will need to adjust I ask you all to support wholeheartedly the work of the mission and to continue to use fully the pastoral care that the mission offers to its friends.
There is much in society today to cause us anxiety ‘No man is an island entire unto himself’ we all need each other. My hope is that you will continue to avail yourselves of all the mission has to offer as we continue to strive to serve your needs.
May God continue to bless you each and every day.
